About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled Proposal Engineer to join its team in Alamo, TN. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and overseas facilities to ensure timely delivery of aftermarket parts.
  • Prepare detailed proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and recommendations, to ensure bids and orders meet customer requirements and are profitable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop bids responsive to customer requests and ensure effective communication with customers.
  • Analyze customer specifications and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize engineering data, drawings, and customer specifications to prepare cost estimates and evaluate supplier quotations.
  • Write and revise contract documents, as required, and compile data for reporting contract scope, terms, cost, and profitability.
  • Participate in investigating technical problems and establishing procedures to prevent recurrences.
  • Manage the pipeline of parts, create purchase requisitions in SAP, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field with 2-5 years of experience in sales, estimation, or a related field.
  • Experience with utilizing programs such as SAP or equivalent.
  • Proficient in dealing with customers on business and technical matters.
  • Knowledge and experience in reading and understanding technical documents and drawings.
  • A working knowledge of Electrical Transformers and their associated parts.
