Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a Resident Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each client.
- Provide Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to clients as they navigate daily life, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Monitor and Report Changes: Monitor clients' medical, physical, and behavioral changes, and report any concerns to the supervisor or program coordinator.
- Administer Medication: Administer medication to clients as prescribed, following agency policy and regulatory standards.
- Transportation and Community Integration: Transport clients to various community-based outings, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting socialization and community integration.
- Household Management: Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
- Professional Development: Participate in training opportunities, maintaining required certifications and adhering to agency policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in the field of Human Services.
- Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Work Schedule: Saturday-Sunday 7am-3pm, Monday 3pm-11pm, 24 hours.
