The Certified Clinical Assistant will engage in a variety of tasks and responsibilities that support patient care, including precise data entry for patient registration and verification of insurance details. The Certified Clinical Assistant exemplifies the ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively with all patients, their families, licensed healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and third-party payers. This role requires a professional demeanor and a compassionate approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill the expectations of the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical care.
- Accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient information.
- Verification of insurance and documentation of statistics.
- Assist in scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, keeping providers informed of changes, and educating patients about their benefits.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
- One year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of employment is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
