Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Associate will operate under minimal supervision, engaging in a variety of essential cleaning and maintenance tasks that are primarily non-technical. This role requires some specialized skills in general maintenance, with tasks that are straightforward yet diverse, necessitating limited analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Duties: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Emptying trash and recycling containers as instructed.
    • Conducting daily spot cleaning of main entrances and glass doors.
    • Checking and restocking all restrooms twice daily.
    • Maintaining cleanliness in kitchenettes.
  • Maintenance Duties: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Performing minor repairs such as painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
    • Executing routine preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Replacing lights and lamps throughout the facility.
    • Alerting management regarding major repair needs or equipment upgrades.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Distributing packages and special deliveries to designated locations.
    • Ensuring the grounds are neat and tidy, including:
      • Daily maintenance of grounds and flower beds.
      • Managing mulch beds.
      • Sweeping parking lots and sidewalks as necessary.
    • Removing snow and ice from sidewalks and entrances.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or Trade School Certificate.
  • At least two years of experience in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic administrative and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and their proper use.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Dependable attendance record.
  • Aptitude for maintenance tasks with a willingness to learn.
  • Capability to follow established methods and procedures with minimal training.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb a 10-foot ladder.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
