About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead our Data Integration team at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data integration solutions using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data integration requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain software applications to support data integration and analytics.
  • Work with external teams and systems to collect data efficiently using various protocols, including HTML and SFTP.
  • Enhance the ETL platform by adding features to shorten timelines for future data integration efforts.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, development, and enhancements made throughout the process.

Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL and data integration.
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix, object-oriented programming languages, and data modeling.
  • TS/SCI with Poly clearance active.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in the face of ambiguity.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with data ingestion, data transformation, and data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Nifi, Informatica, DataBricks, etc.
  • Experience with multiple data formats such as JSON, XML, Binary, etc.
  • One year working with Restful web services.
  • Experience with code development, deployment, versioning.
  • Working in cloud architecture with AWS EC2, RDS, and/or S3.
  • Experience with XML data formats including processing and translation with XSLT and XPath.
  • Experience leading a team.
