At Sargent & Lundy, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy & Industrial Group (EIG). As a key member of our project teams, you'll support industry-leading projects in power generation, plant design, environmental compliance, and more.

We're at the forefront of decarbonizing the industry by leveraging advanced technologies in renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen power. Our EIG teams perform detailed engineering services for photovoltaic (PV) solar projects and the integration of solar and energy storage.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems. You'll be involved in power distribution designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting project managers in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinating systems design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing functional design drawings, including single line, relay, and metering diagrams.
  • Preparing reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Performing independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawings.

Requirements include:

  • A BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 10 or more years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities or modifications/replacements for existing facilities.
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Experience with electrical system design, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
