Job Summary

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide in-home respite care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and traumatic brain injury. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our clients to help them achieve their personal outcomes and live fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing in-home respite care to individuals with varying needs and abilities.
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Supporting individuals in developing daily living, professional, and informed decision-making skills.
  • Advocating for individuals in various situations and promoting their health and safety.
  • Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop service plans that support individuals in achieving their personal life goals.
  • Providing positive behavior support as needed.
  • Preventing, recognizing, and reporting abuse toward individuals.
  • Accurately documenting service provision, daily notes, and other information as required.
  • Promoting and supporting community involvement for individuals.
  • Transporting clients to locations outside the home, such as physicians' offices or on outings, using a motor vehicle.
  • Performing healthcare-related tasks, such as medication administration, when needed.
  • Ensuring all required documentation is completed and processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience performing related job duties, preferably in a residential or in-home setting.
  • Not required, but specialized training, licenses, or certifications may be provided upon hire as needed.
  • Proficient computer skills, writing skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with flexibility, and to anticipate needs.


Work Environment

This role is performed in-person, with some travel in an agency vehicle required from agency drivers. You will be working in a residential setting, providing in-home respite care to individuals with varying needs and abilities.
