Air Force Materiel Command SECURITY ANALYST

Overview:

The primary objective of this role, SECURITY ANALYST NH, is to safeguard the organization against espionage, terrorism, and threats related to unauthorized access or compromise of critical information essential to mission objectives, national defense, and security.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Administers the Industrial Security Program policies and protocols for highly sensitive projects as a key member of the security management team.
2. Enforces the Information Security Program by adhering to local security policies and protocols for classified initiatives.
3. Develops inspection timelines, conducts debriefings for management, and ensures that corrective measures are implemented.
4. Oversees the Personnel Security Program by establishing local procedures for processing security clearance requests for military and civilian staff.
5. Manages the Physical Security and Operational Security (OPSEC) Programs.


Qualifications:


Conditions of Employment Qualifications are outlined in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Roles.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must possess three years of progressively responsible general experience, including one year of experience equivalent to Federal service at the next lower broadband NH-01, or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in other pay systems.

General Experience is defined as experience demonstrating the capability to assist in protecting an organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized access or compromise of information. This includes supporting the administration and execution of the Industrial, Information, Personnel, Physical, and OPSEC security programs.


EDUCATION:

Completion of four years of education beyond high school in any field where high school graduation or its equivalent is the standard prerequisite. This education must be obtained from an accredited institution, including business, secretarial, or technical schools, junior colleges, colleges, or universities.


COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Possession of equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience directly related to the responsibilities of the position.


Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification:

This certification is required within two years of the established employee entry on duty or initial assignment date to this position.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Your qualifications will be assessed based on your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Understanding of information, personnel, physical, industrial, communications, and security concepts, principles, and practices.
2. Familiarity with required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices.
3. Proficiency in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
5. Capability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
