Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse Specialist in Urology, you will provide direct and indirect patient care to clinic patients and their families. You will utilize the nursing processes of comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of nursing care plans and patient education, and on-going evaluation. You will deliver holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area, developing, implementing, coordinating an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. You will foster and maintain collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. You will adhere to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. You will engage in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities:

Provides direct and indirect patient care to clinic patients and their families
Develops, implements, coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care
Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Adheres to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes
Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN license in California
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
2 years recent relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations
Excellent written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record
Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives

Working Conditions:

Works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
May be required to work in a clinical setting, including exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials
May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials
