Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role bridging the Finance department and the ESG office, focusing on the Company's ESG reporting obligations and sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the compilation, preparation, and analysis of reports aligned with the SEC climate disclosure regulations and the firm’s sustainability commitments.
  • Manage the implementation and reporting processes for SEC climate disclosure rules, including monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability progress reports.
  • Prepare materials for senior management and oversee external disclosures and reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization to enhance investor-grade reporting.
  • Support the development and execution of formal ESG and sustainability governance policies to ensure compliance with SEC and FASB standards.
  • Administer the online platform for data collection and auditing, providing guidance to data providers.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and oversight of mandatory ESG reporting.
  • Act as a liaison among Finance, Sustainability, Legal, Real Estate, Operations, and Human Resources to establish effective processes for ESG disclosures.
  • Conduct ongoing benchmarking of ESG disclosures against industry peers and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in ESG or Sustainability, or equivalent experience in Public Accounting.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Sustainability Management, Environmental Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and corporate governance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting (scope 1, 2, and 3) is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

In alignment with Pay Transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position starts at $90,000. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we consider various non-discriminatory factors when determining salary, including location, education, experience, and qualifications.
