Role Overview

  • Our automated platforms, including Bolt and Cruise Origin, are designed to provide significant enhancements to our communities and the clients we serve.
  • Collaboration is key; you will engage with various Cruise teams and occasionally with partners from GM and Honda to tackle challenges and ensure the successful rollout of our products.
  • This position places you at the forefront of developing the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Platform that powers our AV Software Stack.
  • We seek an outstanding engineer with expertise in autonomy system platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate a comprehensive strategy and vision for the AV Platform.
  • Lead the technical design initiatives for System Degradation and Safe Stops.
  • Contribute to the development of software for automotive System on Chip (SoC) systems and networks.
  • Possess hands-on experience with operating systems and distributed computing frameworks applicable to automotive and robotic systems.
  • Engage in System Engineering for AV Systems.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficient in software development using C++.
  • Experience in the product improvement lifecycle.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on large, multi-party projects.
  • Familiarity with formal development processes and the ability to adhere to them.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of autonomous vehicle technologies.
  • Experience with Linux-based operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vehicle development processes.
  • Experience with automation technologies.
  • Ability to think creatively and adaptively when faced with program challenges.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and explore new areas.
