The Academic Program Manager provides academic oversight for Medical Assistant programs and all relevant courses. This role is responsible for teaching, student retention, curriculum development, accreditation, and learning assessment processes.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and demonstrate in the classroom, laboratory, or online settings, ensuring alignment with program objectives and course syllabi.
- Evaluate and monitor student skills, supervise students in externship and/or capstone courses, and develop daily lesson plans based on approved curriculum.
- Ensure all learning goals for courses are met, and program operations comply with state, accreditation, and programmatic regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with Career Services to achieve a 40% Extern to Hire Placement Conversion Rate.
- Recommend field trips, guest speakers, and other informational events to the Academic Dean.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, certification, state, and federal guidelines related to the program.
- Current valid Medical Assistant Certification: RMA, CMA, or NCMA required.
- Associate Degree in Medical Assistant or a combination of work experience and/or required credentials in the field.
- Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the college level, preferably in the proprietary school setting.
