Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
Shift Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time with Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct essential tasks in the patient care workflow by embedding and preparing slides for standard H & E and specialized staining techniques.
- Perform and document routine preventative maintenance as scheduled.
- Identify when troubleshooting is necessary for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining procedures.
- Operate effectively in a dynamic laboratory setting with biological and chemical risks.
- Promote safety, compliance, and quality assurance in all laboratory activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of graduation from a Histotechnology program accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS and HT (ASCP) certification.
- At least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing.
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent body.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory, with documented expertise in special stains and immunohistochemistry.
