About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team at Lake Huron Medical Center, a 144-bed community hospital providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient health care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation by the Pathologist through the use of a microtomy, special staining, histochemistry, and other appropriate techniques.
  • Process, cut, and embed all types of tissue and body fluid samples.
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures, including immunohistochemical staining procedures if applicable.
  • Maintain histology equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance.
  • Keep manuals, logs, and files up-to-date and accurate.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Histotechnician (Non-Certified) required.
  • Certified Histotechnician (HT/ASCP) - preferred.
