Job Title: Music Instructor - Private Lessons Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Music Instructor to join our team as a Private Lessons Specialist. As a key member of our music education program, you will be responsible for teaching individual and group music lessons, developing curriculum and assessments, and establishing collaborative partnerships within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach individual and group music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
  • Design and implement curriculum, assessment rubrics, and lesson plans for each course taught.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing collaborative partnerships with schools and organizations to promote music education.
  • Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts to attract new students and promote the program.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of the music education program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent qualified performance experience.
  • Three years of teaching experience, either in a classroom setting or private/group lessons.
  • Record of musical performance experience and evidence of curriculum development.
  • Ability to work with children, parents, and staff in a leadership capacity.
  • Initiative and self-starter skills, with a positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Working knowledge of music literature and a philosophy of education consistent with The Salvation Army's mission.
