Key Responsibilities- Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Patient Care: Counsel patients on the proper use, storage, and potential side effects of medications, and provide advice on over-the-counter medications and other health-related products.
- Clinical Services: Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) and comprehensive medication reviews (CMR), and collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice, and maintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory, including controlled substances.
- Operational Duties: Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates, and supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff when needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and pharmacy services.
- Professional Development: Stay current with continuing education requirements and advancements in pharmaceutical science, and attend professional meetings and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Experience: Previous experience in Retail, Hospital, or Clinical Pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, and proficiency with pharmacy software and technology.
This role requires working in a retail setting, with rotating evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. The position involves standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of supplies, up to 20 pounds. Exposure to chemicals and medications requires adherence to safety protocols.
