Nurse Practitioner

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-quality patient care, increase access, and improve outcomes for Veterans.
Responsibilities- Provide a wide range of health care services, including diagnosis and management of acute, chronic, and complex health problems.
- Perform physical examinations, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and order laboratory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinations.
- Make arrangements for further care if appropriate and serve as a consultant to other providers.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of staff, including trainees and a multidisciplinary staff in a fast-paced educational and collegial environment.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing protocols and organize educational activities targeted toward staff training and development.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as an APN to practice as a NP in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Must be licensed or otherwise recognized as a NP in a State and maintain full and current certification as a NP from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.
The Nurse Practitioner will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to rotate call coverage, work weekdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. The supervisor will determine the actual work schedule upon selection based on the needs of the organization.
