Job Title: Benefits Account Analyst

Brown & Brown Insurance has an exciting opportunity available for a Benefits Account Analyst to support our Kansas City, MO team.

Job Summary:

The Benefits Account Analyst will assist in servicing the needs of employee benefit clients. This includes daily service functions and frequent ad hoc requests, preparing requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverages, and escalating issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Team Lead to develop reporting requirements and any deviations or customizations in those reports. Coordinates and executes the implementation of new client custom reporting packages.
  • Prepare, monitor, and send monthly financials for clients including entry of data into client exhibits. Prepare basic financial/underwriting exhibits as requested including but not limited to financial projections, large claim analysis, specific stop loss analysis, demographics analysis, IBNR, etc.
  • Identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
  • Request and manage benefit renewal delivery and confirmation process.
  • Draft benefit marketing, manage process and deliver results to Benefit Consultant.
  • Create, review and edit employee benefit guides, presentations and other client communications as requested.
  • Support client in open enrollment preparation and execution.
  • Review plan documents and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Provide compliance updates/notices to clients and address questions/requests.
  • Manage internal client audit process.
  • Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' related experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
  • Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year of employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related industry preferred and/or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Microsoft Excel – Strong to expert level skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of both interpreting data as well as interacting with clients on a time-sensitive basis.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client financial requirements
