Job Title: Cardiology Nurse Specialist

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiology Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Medical Center of the Rockies Main Hospital in Loveland, CO.

Job Summary:

The Cardiology Nurse Specialist will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), utilizing the nursing process to prioritize patient needs and ensure exceptional outcomes. This role requires a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU and PCU, utilizing the nursing process to prioritize patient needs and ensure exceptional outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient-centered care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practice and patient preferences.
  • Monitor and report patient status to the healthcare team, identifying potential safety risks and implementing interventions to mitigate them.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months of ICU or PCU nursing experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
