Licensed Practical Nurse for Senior Care

The Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) at Penick Village play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our senior residents. These dedicated caregivers are directly involved in assisting residents with their daily care requirements. LPNs are tasked with supervising nursing assistants and upholding a high standard of care, while also ensuring compliance with record-keeping and licensing standards as outlined by the Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of Elder Assistants and Medication Technicians, adhering to current regulations and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.
- Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures by all nursing staff under your supervision.
- Collaborate with other resident services to maintain a comprehensive care regimen for residents.
- Perform administrative tasks, including completing medical forms, reports, and charting as necessary.
- Engage in the facility's quality assurance initiatives for the nursing service department.
- Contribute to the resident's discharge planning process as required.
- Participate in inspections conducted by authorized government agencies.
- Provide written and oral reports regarding shift activities as needed.
- Review and recommend updates to departmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Facilitate meetings with nursing staff and support personnel to plan services and activities.
- Clarify departmental policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
- Maintain and submit the Daily Census Report to the Business Office as required.
- Administer and document medications as prescribed by physicians, following facility protocols.
- Act as an Assistant Responder for Independent Living residents.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a current Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 60 days. Experience in senior care is preferred.
