Job Summary

CMI Group Aerospace & Defense is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and running aerospace production parts on CNC lathes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operation of CNC lathes for aerospace production parts
  • Daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels and cleaning out chips
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Understanding of CNC controls, including G & M program codes
  • Tool management, including entering offsets to compensate for tool wear and replacement of worn and damaged tools
  • Reading and understanding of blueprints, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, and GD&T
  • Proper use of basic inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify machined dimensions of product
  • In-process inspection of parts machined, recording inspection data at prescribed intervals
  • Filling out MOT and job routers, maintaining correct part counts on the MOT
  • Tagging hardware and recording discrepancies on proper paperwork
  • Communicating job-related issues or questions to lead personnel for resolution and clarification
  • Reporting machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel
  • Adhering to all company and industry safety standards and protocols

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience running CNC lathes
  • Understanding of G & M codes for Fanuc-based programming
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection
  • Ability to use computer software, company ERP system, clocking in and out of jobs
  • Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and stand majority of the shift
