We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce high-quality images.
- Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject contrast agents according to established protocols.
- Maintain MRI equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use and reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting patient needs.
- Assess physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness, reviewing relevant information to ensure accurate procedures.
- Document patient and exam information, storing images on archive media for future reference.
- Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films and accurately inputting data in the RIS system.
- Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment to maintain high performance.
- Work effectively as a team member, communicating with colleagues and other units to provide quality service.
- Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining understanding of policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- CT state license.
- CPR certification may be required.
- Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
- At least one year of experience as a radiological technologist.
- Associates or Applied Science Degree in a related field.
- Working knowledge of radiological technology, anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
- Patient care standards and requirements.
- Quality assurance principles and practices.
- Customer service principles and practices.
- OSHA principles and practices.
- TJC standards of practice.
May be required to rotate on night, weekend, and/or holiday call schedule. May be required to cover ancillary offices as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
