As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our outpatient care setting, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses, physicians, optometrists, and/or podiatrists to deliver essential patient care services and maintain accurate documentation for individuals across all age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and record both objective and subjective data regarding patient health.
- Contribute valuable insights and health information to the nursing assessment, ensuring timely communication with the supervising RN or authorized healthcare provider.
- Execute the established nursing care plan as directed by the RN, including administering medications or treatments as authorized.
- Document and communicate the patient's reactions to the nursing care plan or treatments, monitoring for any adverse effects and conducting routine laboratory tests.
- Assist in the ongoing evaluation and modification of the nursing care plan.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, fostering understanding and compliance.
- Engage in continuous professional development within the nursing field.
- Participate in the orientation of new staff members, sharing knowledge and offering guidance as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Certifications Required:
Current Ohio LPN License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Complexity of Work:
This role necessitates strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal oversight. The ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately is essential.
Work Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in patient care is preferred.
Physical Demands:
This position requires full body mobility to assist and lift patients, along with manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. It involves significant standing, walking, and occasional lifting tasks. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges. The role may expose you to communicable diseases or bodily fluids, and it involves working under potentially stressful conditions or irregular hours.

- Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force.
- Frequently exerting 10 to 25 pounds of force.
- Constantly exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
