Job Title: VP Legal - Finance and Corporate Governance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP Legal - Finance and Corporate Governance to join our team at Global Partners LP. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing short- and long-term strategies that impact our organization's legal function.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will serve as the primary in-house legal resource for our Finance and SEC Reporting teams, providing guidance and support on all aspects of finance and corporate governance. You will also collaborate with our Accounting and Tax teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to our Chief Legal Officer and supported business units on finance and corporate governance matters.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel on complex legal issues related to our supported business units.
  • Interpret and prepare legal documents, analyze and interpret proposed and existing legislation, and advise management on legal matters to guard the organization against legal liability.
  • Support the Chief Legal Officer in coordinating Board of Director and related committee meetings, preparing and verifying accuracy of meeting notices or agendas, and ensuring appropriate management of related minutes or materials.
Requirements:
  • Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and membership in the bar in at least one state (preferably Massachusetts).
  • At least 10+ years of in-depth experience in a corporate or transactional law firm and/or senior in-house legal positions.
  • Retail fuel and convenience store experience a plus.
