Role Summary

The Technical Project Manager plays a pivotal role within the project management team, which includes Project Managers, Software Project Managers, and Sub-Project Managers. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software domains to effectively oversee the overall technical scope coordination and validation of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the technical design and integration processes to meet the technical standards of BEUMER Group and client contracts from initiation to project completion.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination with clients, stakeholders, and partners (such as suppliers and consultants) regarding technical project aspects.
  • Defines, plans, and supervises system simulations and testing to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Collaborates with the project manager to maintain transparent communication regarding technical and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manages and coordinates technical interface elements of the project, including establishing connections with clients and external suppliers.
  • Shares responsibility for project costs, timelines, and quality, assessing the technical and financial implications of decisions made.
  • Works closely with the procurement team to develop and review detailed purchase orders, ensuring technical specifications and scope of supply are accurately defined.
  • Co-manages the requirements management process, focusing on technical requirements and ensuring traceability with stakeholders.
  • Analyzes requirements, formulates technical specifications, and evaluates technical changes along with their overall impact.
  • Leads the identification, assessment, and mitigation of technical project risks.
  • Reviews technical documentation prior to submission for client approval.
  • Co-manages gate/sub-gate meetings to ensure the fulfillment of technical tasks and captures lessons learned.
  • Shares responsibility for the quality of final operation and maintenance documentation, as well as training materials for customer support.
  • Provides technical assistance during installation, commissioning, and final testing phases.
  • Actively participates in the specification approval, design, production, installation, and commissioning processes of project execution.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Preferred undergraduate degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in engineering, installation, commissioning, and testing of logistics or similar technology systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading project teams and coordinating with various project disciplines.

Certifications

  • PMP Certification is mandatory or must be obtained within one year of employment.

Commitment and Travel

  • Demonstrates goal-setting abilities, genuine concern for team members, and a strong desire to contribute to a successful team.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, as required, up to 50% of the time.
