About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled API/Database Designer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a centralized database system to store user interactions between applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a scalable and secure database architecture to support multiple applications.
  • Develop APIs using modern frameworks to interact with various databases.
  • Create testing pipelines using GitHub actions and/or Jenkins.
  • Develop pipelines to roll out data releases from Airtable into a more traditional database.
  • Present the pros and cons of different solutions to the development team.
Requirements
  • Master's degree with 2 years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or 6 years of directly related experience converting existing hosted databases.
  • Experience developing APIs.
  • Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Node.js, Python, Linux, Bash/shell scripts, Azure services, GitHub actions, and Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of directly related experience.
