Mental Health Clerk Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mental Health Clerk to join our team at New York City Health + Hospitals Correctional Health Services. As a Mental Health Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the facility's mental health operations by performing various administrative and clerical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage appointment lists to ensure proper scheduling of mental health care visits
  • Assist with the maintenance of patient databases and spreadsheets
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to appropriate staff
  • Maintain patient census database and reconcile MO Bed space
  • Process and manage MO round sheets, including tracking and inputting into electronic records
  • Utilize the Inmate Inquiry System to generate patient lists and update tracking databases
  • Generate daily suicide watch lists and disseminate to appropriate parties
  • Assign M designation to newly enrolled patients
  • Provide real-time scheduling support and assist with timeliness completion
  • Obtain and manage collateral records from outside institutions and agencies
  • Chaperone telehealth encounters and maintain department equipment
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of email and internet
  • Experience in maintaining patient confidentiality
