Job Summary:


The Senior Group Risk Analyst provides expert guidance and advice on risk-related matters within the assigned area of specialization. This role supports business by delivering broad research, analysis, and reporting, and may also provide oversight and commentary on team and individual initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Exercise sound and expert independent professional judgment in interacting and communicating with staff and senior management of the Bank.
  • Empower prudent professional recommendations to business lines or assigned areas, impacting performance and overall enterprise strategies and objectives.
  • Integrate the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within the functional area.
  • Analyze and understand the industry, competition, and factors that differentiate the organization.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert, making sound decisions in setting standards within the area of expertise.
  • Apply expert knowledge and best practices to implement process, product, or service improvements.
  • Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the own area of specialty or as a resource for others.
  • Lead projects of moderately to complex risk and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs.
  • Execute on complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement solutions within the own area or responsibility that impact the strategies and objectives of the department.
  • Use advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate.
  • Impact a high level of complexity in operational/reporting/process and/or analysis function requiring medium to longer-term focus. Provide advanced analysis and/or specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas, or centers of expertise.
  • Work independently as the senior technical lead and guide others within the area of expertise.
  • Identify and lead problem resolution for complex issues at all levels.


Requirements:



  • Undergraduate degree or technical professional certification and/or 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of risk management, programs, policies, practices, and reporting for business supported and/or area of discipline.
  • Understanding and experience with various programming tools.
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends.
  • Ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives.
  • Advanced skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods, and reporting techniques.
  • Skill in using computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Willingness to consider 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Python or SQL skills preferred.
  • Hands-on experience from a 1st Line or 2nd Line perspective in non-financial risk assessment.
