We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substitute School Nurse to join our team at Denville Township Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing services to students and staff, ensuring a healthy and safe school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the school physician, other school nurses, and staff to develop and implement health services and programs that promote student well-being.
- Conduct health screenings and provide emergency care as needed, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records.
- Develop and implement health education programs and materials to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among students.
- Work closely with teachers and staff to identify and support students with special health needs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the district's emergency and crisis management plan.
- Collaborate with community health agencies and other stakeholders to promote student health and well-being.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or student personnel services director.
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse Certification
- Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
- Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues, and wellness education
- Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with nonschool health professionals and social service agencies
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
The Substitute School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
