Located in Somerset, NJ, Catalent houses advanced oral solid dose manufacturing operations as part of the Oral and Specialty Delivery (OSD) division. Our facility features a cutting-edge laboratory, clinical, and commercial manufacturing plant dedicated to oral dosage forms, in addition to being the Catalent Center of Excellence for managing Highly Potent Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.

The Lead Business Intelligence Strategist will be tasked with guiding and managing the advancement and sophistication of the business intelligence lifecycle, encompassing data collection, transformation, analysis, and visualization. This position necessitates a robust combination of technical proficiency, leadership capabilities, and business insight.

The Lead Business Intelligence Strategist will work in close partnership with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and colleagues in Enterprise Data Sciences & Analytics to ensure that the appropriate business requirements are recognized, effective BI/analytics solutions are developed, and to uphold data integrity and accuracy while promoting self-service BI throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer strategic guidance, solution architecture, and leadership to business intelligence project teams, advocating for self-service BI, initiating, and managing a new Analytics Community of Practice, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience, with a proven track record of working across diverse geographies with teams situated in various locations.
  • Possess experience in the Life Sciences sector, which is essential.
  • Have familiarity with GxP processes, which is mandatory.
  • Oversee and manage a team of offshore contractors responsible for managed services, project delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Encourage a culture of self-service BI and thought leadership through experience and expertise.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance and data quality standards throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Employ advanced analytics techniques to derive insights from complex data sets, irrespective of their source or format.
  • Supervise the design and development of intuitive and impactful data visualizations, dashboards, and reports utilizing Power BI to enhance understanding and communication of key insights.
  • Expect up to 5% travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Over 7 years of demonstrated experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with a strong history of leading global BI initiatives.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven ability to work across various geographies with teams located in different regions.
  • Experience in the Life Sciences industry is required.
  • Familiarity with GxP processes is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services pertinent to data management and analytics.
  • Experience with Power BI applications utilizing Databricks as the underlying technology is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (SQL, Python, R) and BI visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, etc.).
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.
