We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant - Limited Scope Operator to join our team at Wheat Ridge Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for healthcare provider visits, maintaining a positive and caring attitude.
- Coordinate patient care, administer care, and document patient information accurately.
- Ensure patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
- Perform routine tests, including EKGs, hearing and vision screens, as requested by the healthcare provider.
- Communicate test results to patients and establish a plan of care by phone or mail, as directed by the provider.
- Document patient plans of care, test results, and examination results in the medical record, as directed by the provider.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via various administration methods.
- Perform clinical diagnostic x-rays and prepare completed studies for provider review.
- Perform all required processor and equipment maintenance and quality control processes.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Limited Scope certificate and state license.
- Maintain radiology education.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (with prior approval).
- Minimum of three (3) months of previous experience within a healthcare setting.
- Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam (e.g., AAMA or AMT) for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
