Job Summary

The Kelly Group is seeking a skilled Shop Fabricator to join its team in Lafayette, Indiana. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to metal fabrication and welding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Metal Fabrication: Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various techniques and equipment.
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding of mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to high-quality standards.
  • Setup and Layout: Set up and layout metal components for welding, ensuring accurate and precise alignment.
  • Weld Symbol Interpretation: Interpret and apply various weld form symbols on blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Vertical and Horizontal Welding: Perform both vertical and horizontal welding tasks with precision and accuracy.
  • Setup Techniques: Develop and apply thorough understanding of setup techniques for various metal components.
  • Print Reading: Read and interpret prints and technical drawings to understand weld symbols and requirements.
  • Structural Assembly: Assemble and tack up metal structures to high tolerance and weld out to exact tolerances.
  • Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety standards and procedures in rigging and handling metal components.
  • Facility Navigation: Move parts and components throughout the fabrication facility with ease.

  • Industrial Construction Experience: Possess experience or training in industrial construction or related fields.
