As a member of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP), you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive, accessible, and Veteran-centered mental health care.

Job Summary

The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) serves as a member of the BHIP, coordinating and providing specialty mental health counseling. The LPMHC conducts assessment interviews, develops treatment plans, and provides treatment to eligible Veterans. Treatment modalities may include crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services, and empirically based treatment for various mental health conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessment interviews and develop treatment plans for eligible Veterans.
  • Provide treatment to Veterans, including crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services, and empirically based treatment for various mental health conditions.
  • Refer clients to other programs and professionals as appropriate.
  • Participate in and provide consultation to other team members.
  • Participate in conjoint emergency treatment with medical facility mental health personnel.
Requirements
  • Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Education: Hold a master's or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
  • Licensure: Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to independently practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor.
Preferred Experience
  • VA or DOD experience.
  • Work experience in community settings.
  • Experience incorporating outcome measures into treatment.
  • Experience with evidence-based psychotherapies for individuals, groups, couples, and families.
  • Experience in case management in complex settings.
  • Experience in outpatient general health clinics.
