We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Professional to join our team as a Seasonal Business Tax Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and tax preparation services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Complex Business Tax Returns: Prepare and file tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
- Provide Tax Advice and Guidance: Offer expert advice and guidance to customers on tax-related matters, including tax calculations, filing tax extensions, and product/software inquiries.
- Utilize Technology and Resources: Leverage government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to customers using everyday language.
- Document Customer Interactions: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, including tax advice and tax return preparation.
- Meet Key Performance Metrics: Work towards meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals.
- Strong Business Tax Preparation Experience: 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients/customers per season for compensation, using commercial tax preparation software.
- Active Unrestricted Credential: Must possess an active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
- Minimum of 2 Seasons of Personal Tax Preparation Experience: Minimum of 2 seasons of personal Tax Preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per tax year in a tax practice or retail setting for compensation, strongly preferred.
- Bookkeeping Experience: Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation is strongly preferred.
- Experience Preparing Business Tax Returns for Service Industry Customers: Experience preparing Business Tax returns for service industry customers strongly preferred.
- Related State Licenses, Certificates, Permits, or Bonds: Must possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
- Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN): Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Commitment to Schedule: Commit to a minimum schedule of at least 20 hours/week (minimum 4 hour shift increments) throughout the tax season.
- Working Knowledge of Circular 230: Working knowledge of Circular 230.
- Proficient with Technology: Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
- Strong Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills – ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and confident manner.
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Research Skills, and Determination: Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills, and determination.
- Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Dedicated Hardwired Internet Connection: Must have (or be willing to obtain) a dedicated hardwired internet connection that meets Intuit Security criteria and a quiet location in which to work.
