We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our donors, including our Spanish-speaking donors, by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless and safe donation experience.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Communicate with donors, including Spanish-speaking donors, to ensure a seamless and exemplary donation experience.
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, as outlined in the SOPs.
- Manage donor deferral, reviews test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI).
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Licensed Paramedic (EMT-P).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
- Ability to fluently and proficiently speak and read in both English and Spanish.
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
