Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Admitting Representative to join our team at NYU Langone Health. This role is responsible for accurately reviewing and recording patient demographics and financial information, as well as providing clear and concise information to patients to facilitate their safe and efficient entry into care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately review and record patient demographics and financial information
  • Provide clear and concise information to patients to facilitate their safe and efficient entry into care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and internal and external customers
  • Use good judgment and initiative to adapt to variations in workloads and assignments
  • Register patients accurately and thoroughly, validating patient identity and reviewing all previously obtained information for accuracy and completeness
  • Collect and verify all necessary financial information for medical center services
  • Collect patient payments due at the time of service efficiently and effectively
  • Provide effective and sensitive customer service, defining patient and family needs and providing quality service
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related office or retail experience, including direct customer contact and service
  • Verbal, reading, and basic arithmetic skills, as well as basic familiarity with computers and good interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of healthcare registration or billing experience
  • College degree or coursework
