Job Summary

Delaware State University is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Nursing. We are looking for experienced nursing professionals to teach in various clinical areas, including maternal/newborn nursing, medical/surgical nursing, mental health nursing, child and family nursing, and community and/or public health nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach nursing courses in a variety of clinical areas
  • Maintain professionalism, competence, and knowledge of subject matter
  • Meet each class as scheduled and conduct each class according to the highest professional standards
  • Distribute syllabi to students at the beginning of the semester
  • Be available for advising and counseling on academic performance and progress
  • Treat students fairly, impartially, and with understanding
  • Adhere to course descriptions and deadlines
Qualifications
  • Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus in the clinical area listed above
  • Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Delaware
  • Current clinical nursing experience
  • Teaching experience in higher education preferred
  • Simulation experience preferred
