Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant, Hospice is a vital member of the interdisciplinary team working under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide personalized care and support to patients in need. This role requires a strong understanding of hospice philosophy and the ability to provide specialized care to the terminally ill.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support services according to a written plan of care, ensuring patient privacy and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment properly, reporting any dysfunction immediately.
  • Carry out basic infection control procedures, including proper hand washing techniques and cleaning patient supplies and equipment.
  • Accept delegation from Clinical Supervisor and/or RN, Case Manager, and accurately document patient status and care provided.
  • Assume responsibility for job development, maintaining up-to-date licensures and participating in continuous quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • CNA certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Current CPR certification
  • 1 year of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Valid driver's license with a vehicle in good working order
