Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive job assignments with initial guidance for a variety of tasks, complex machinery, and standard materials.
    • Interpret operational sequences and/or setup requirements.
    • Gather necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Set up and operate various machine tools, including CNC machinery, engine lathes, and radial drills.
    • Determine and adjust feeds and speeds based on material and machining needs, optimizing machine performance for efficiency in time, material, and tooling usage.
    • Execute hand operations such as deburring and cleaning as needed.
    • Utilize machine controls to retrieve computer programs from the DNC network, configure controls, and monitor machining processes.
    • Provide training to operators on the correct use and maintenance of machine tools.
    • Adjust coolant flow and make necessary machine modifications when required.
    • Remove finished pieces from machines, identifying and setting them aside as directed.
  • Handle materials manually or with the assistance of an overhead crane.
  • Perform all tasks with precision, ensuring maximum material efficiency.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, demonstrating care in facility usage and assisting with repairs as necessary.
  • Complete additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to established operational protocols to guarantee efficiency, quality, and compliance with relevant OSHA and EPA standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Prior experience in operating, setting up, and editing CNC and manual machines for precision components.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and bills of materials.
  • Proficient in using various precision measuring tools.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks involving stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
