Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Performance Improvement Specialist to join our team at Idaho National Laboratory. As a key member of our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) department, you will play a critical role in reducing human error and improving organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply human performance improvement principles, theories, and concepts to integrate into our laboratory-wide culture, systems, programs, activities, and tools.
  • Create and manage human performance improvement goals, ensuring they are met through tracking mechanisms.
  • Interface with management and employees, applying practitioner skills and human performance knowledge to complete actions.
  • Support organizational INL human performance practitioners in coordinating assessments, training, and investigations among various mission and support organizations.
  • Work closely with other human performance practitioners and SMEs to ensure clear execution and communication of needed human performance services.
  • Conduct and review human performance investigations, providing context to events or process changes, and examining events thoroughly to identify gaps.
  • Ensure human performance lesson plans are current, training is revised, and complete documentation is provided.
  • Mentor junior staff and look for opportunities to involve them in current projects.
Requirements
  • Level 3: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, 11 years of relevant experience.
  • Level 4: Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain a DOE 'L' clearance. May be required to obtain and maintain additional security clearance level of Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification.
