Job Title: RN - House Supervisor

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled and experienced RN - House Supervisor to join our team.

About the Role:

The RN - House Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating activities within the hospital, including staffing, patient flow, and coordination of hospital activities. This role will also involve assisting with data collection and monitoring aspects of patient care, as well as acting as a resource person for nursing staff and other departments within the hospital.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor care given by team members in accordance with patient needs and professional capabilities.
  • Create a positive work environment by mentoring staff and students, and working with team members to facilitate initiatives that strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients.
  • Coordinate patient flow and placement to coordinate with staff availability.
  • Identify problem situations, develop and implement effective decisions.
  • Prepare and mix IV solutions, follow physicians' orders for medications and concentration, and demonstrate aseptic technique.
  • Work directly with physicians to schedule surgeries, and call surgery staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an approved nursing program.
  • BSN preferred.
  • 3 years clinical experience.
  • 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
  • Current Iowa Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support Certification upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 45 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 45 days of hire.
  • Completion of eight hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually.
  • CPI/MOAB certification within the first 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
