About This Role
TotalMed Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assess progress during labor, and assist with pain management techniques to ensure a safe and comfortable birthing experience.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized birth plans and interventions.
- Assist with childbirth, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Educate and support mothers and their families during the postpartum period, providing breastfeeding assistance, newborn care instruction, and emotional support for the transition to parenthood.
Requirements
- Current RN license
- BLS (Other Certifications as required by facility)
- Two years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
