About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Associate to join our team at Movement. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of our gyms, ensuring that they are always in excellent condition for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
  • Work closely with the Director team to ensure that the gym is in excellent condition at all times.
  • Partner with Facilities Service Providers to manage projects and repairs that require specialized skills.
  • Coordinate with Regional Facilities Manager or Assistant Director to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers, including fitness equipment providers and pest control services.
  • Keep maintenance logs and reports on daily activities, keeping directors informed.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders as needed, seeking budget approval from Regional Facilities Manager or Assistant Director.
  • Perform manual repairs and conduct general upkeep procedures, such as landscaping, painting, and light carpentry.
  • Supervise and occasionally perform Rope and Anchors checks.
  • Ensure that employee work in the gyms is performed in a safe manner and complies with applicable safety requirements.
  • Respond to and address urgent maintenance needs per Movement Policy.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, but in line with gym and director goals.
  • Ability to safely use and supervise use of power tools and ladders.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on status of projects.
  • Organized and efficient, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform Rope Access work and be comfortable working on ropes at height (training available).
  • Responds to emails and other inquiries by end of business day.
  • Supports and embodies Movement's core values.
  • Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Asana).
  • Ability to work on a ladder and lift 50lbs.
  • Have a driver's license and ability to travel to all region gyms.
