We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Associate to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a Patient Access Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and record accurate demographic and insurance information on patients, ensuring that the correct insurance plan codes are utilized for the billing process.
- Conduct medical necessity checks to ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines.
- Collect payments based on pre-determined information and perform insurance verification to determine patient out-of-pocket expenses for services.
- Accurately post and receipt patient payments, balancing cash drawers on a daily basis.
- Provide excellent customer service, promoting a positive and professional demeanor in every interaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Two years of experience in a strong customer service environment.
- One year of registration experience in a hospital environment preferred.
