The Dickinson County Healthcare System is currently seeking *part-time* **Environmental Service Aides** to support their operations. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment that promotes patient recovery and well-being.
This role reports directly to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
**Key Responsibilities**
Adhere to established policies and procedures to ensure quality assurance, safety, and infection control.
Manage waste disposal from designated areas, transporting materials to the compactor and compacting as necessary.
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting and damp wiping all furniture, hard surfaces, and equipment using appropriate disinfectants.
Prepare patient care areas by making beds and restocking linens and supplies.
Clean and polish metal, porcelain, and glass surfaces as required.
Execute floor maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and waxing as assigned.
Maintain adequate supplies and linens for operational needs.
Receive and organize linens from providers, ensuring the linen room is stocked and delivering cleaned laundry to various departments.
**Compensation and Benefits**
Starting pay ranges from $12.00 to $15.37 per hour, depending on experience. This position also includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off (sick and vacation), and life insurance.
**Work Schedule**
This is a regular part-time position with shifts assigned based on operational needs.
**Preferred Qualifications**
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Prior experience in environmental services, janitorial work, or institutional cleaning is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a professional demeanor that fosters trust and competence among colleagues.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks is necessary.
Physical and mental capability to perform the duties of this role, including working in a healthcare setting with exposure to cleaning agents and fumes; ability to walk, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods; and lift/carry up to 30 pounds regularly.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required.
