Job Summary:

This role is responsible for creating PCB layout designs from electrical schematics and mechanical design files to support the development of advanced radio communication equipment for the military and first responders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCB design and experience working with design tools such as Mentor PADS.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize Mentor PADS software to incorporate schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into new and revised rigid, flex, and rigid-flex designs.

Collaborate with the cross-functional design team to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues identified through Valor NPI fabrication and manufacturing checks.

Create PCB stackups using Polar Speedstack and model controlled impedance with Polar Si9000.

Create and maintain PCB layout design guidelines.

Participate in peer design reviews of PCB layouts.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Knowledge of the PCB design value chain: schematics, materials, fabrication, assembly, and related design and simulation software tools.

Experience working directly with multiple engineering disciplines and functions, e.g., electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, etc.

Experience with PCB design software.

Experience working with a PLM tool.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of SMT and through-hole electronic components and packages.

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.

Excellent attention to detail.
