Job Summary

The Food Service Assistant is a vital member of our team at the Good Samaritan Society, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction in our dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and record proper food temperatures to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our residents.
  • Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.
  • Prepare and serve food items, restock food areas, and clean and sanitize equipment to maintain a high level of quality control.
  • Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register, providing excellent customer service and effectively communicating with patrons and co-workers.
  • Comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money, as well as knowledge of food service.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions, as well as perform basic math.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.
