Job Title: Ready Mix Driver

CRH Plc. is seeking a skilled Ready Mix Driver to join our team. As a Ready Mix Driver, you will be responsible for operating ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner to deliver products to various job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Perform pre and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Verify general compliance with mix specifications after loading and at job site.
  • Align mixer drum under disbursement chute at the plant to receive product into the mixer truck drum.
  • Drive ready mix truck to location for unloading.
  • Operate ready mix truck to release concrete down truck chute into area to be poured with concrete.
  • Clean truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck.
  • Place and operate chutes to deliver product where directed.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Requirements:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or Class B.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

Physical Requirements:
  • GRIP - with at least 75 lbs. of force.
  • CLIMBING - in, around, and on equipment.
  • HEAVY LIFTING - of extremely awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • CARRYING - awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. for 50 feet or more.
  • HIGH LIFT - of up to 50 lbs. floor to shoulder.
  • AWKWARD LIFT - of up to 35 lbs. shoulder to away from body.
  • FLEXIBILITY- awkward reaches.
  • BALANCE - including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
  • VISION- 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.
  • HEARING - corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions from coworkers.
