Job Description Summary

At GE Aerospace, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in aerospace engineering. As a Lead Design Engineer Custom Logic, you'll be at the forefront of technology development, driving program planning, execution, and process enhancement across multiple products or business segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop FPGA solutions for various platforms, ensuring efficient and effective task execution.
  • Innovate in FPGA, ASIC, and CPLD device design for avionics hardware applications, aiming for patentable advancements.
  • Execute VHDL designs using industry-standard tools for design and simulation.
  • Oversee the development and management of requirements in DOORs, preparing DO-254 certification artifacts.
  • Formulate and implement project plans for custom logic development, focusing on scheduling and cost management.
  • Generate bids, proposals, and define intricate architectures within your product domain.
  • Apply judgment and expertise to resolve moderately complex hardware design, manufacturing, or technology issues.
  • Analyze data to support decision-making, drawing on both internal and limited external sources.
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced colleagues and potentially lead projects with moderate risks and resources.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively, striving for consensus and employing persuasion skills within your expertise area.
  • Manage documentation of technical data in accordance with engineering policies and procedures for all assigned projects and tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in design.
  • Desired characteristics include a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering, a minimum of 5 years of experience in computing product development, specifically with cSoC device architectures, and proficiency in high-speed data interfaces and computing applications.
