About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our Highways & Traffic Engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing safe, effective, and award-winning transportation projects that enhance the infrastructure of our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and practices to our highway/roadway design operations
  • Develop and implement innovative design solutions using advanced techniques and modification of existing theories and practices
  • Perform complex assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures
  • Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions
  • Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on projects
  • May serve as a contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors
  • May act as a quality coordinator for discipline-led projects
  • May serve on professional association committees for the establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • 2 or more years of Highway/Roadway Design experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak/InRoads, and OpenRoads design software; Civil 3D experience is a plus
  • EIT preferred; PE licensed is a plus
  • Ability to create drawings from sketches
  • Ability to ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in learning new technologies
